Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 March 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TruthHound (the "Service"), operated by TruthHound Ltd. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use TruthHound. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction. The Service is not designed for, and must not be used by, minors.

What TruthHound is and is not

TruthHound is a signal-detection tool. It analyses material you upload — photos, messages, voice notes, and profile data — and surfaces statistical indicators of AI generation, manipulation, and known scam patterns.

TruthHound is not a verdict. It does not determine truth, identity, or guilt. It is not a substitute for professional advice — including legal, financial, medical, or safety advice — and it is not an investigative service. AI-detection methods are probabilistic and degrade as new generative models appear; outputs may include false positives and false negatives.

Acceptable use

You agree to use TruthHound only for lawful, personal-safety purposes. You will:

  • Only upload material you have a legal right to share or that has been shared with you.
  • Never upload child sexual abuse material (CSAM); this is reported and accounts are terminated.
  • Not use the Service to harass, stalk, dox, or threaten any person.
  • Not use the Service to surveil minors, or to surveil non-consenting adults beyond the limited scope of personal-safety self-checks (e.g. assessing someone who has approached you).
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules without notice and may report unlawful activity to relevant authorities.

Account responsibility

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to keep credentials secure.

Subscriptions, refunds, cancellation

Single Verdict (£14.99 one-off): a one-time purchase. Once analysis has run, the purchase is non-refundable. You may re-run the scan with new evidence within 7 days at no extra charge.

Watch (£19.99 / month): a recurring subscription. You may cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial months.

Statutory rights under UK consumer law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015) are not affected.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, TruthHound makes no warranty — express or implied — of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

AI-detection is probabilistic and degrades as new generative models appear. You accept full responsibility for any decisions you make on the basis of a TruthHound report, including whether to meet, trust, transact with, or distance yourself from any person.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — shall not exceed the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TruthHound Ltd, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (i) your breach of these Terms, (ii) your misuse of the Service, or (iii) your violation of any law or third-party right, including any person's privacy or image rights.

Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service, save that nothing prevents us from seeking injunctive relief in any competent jurisdiction.
