Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 May 2026
Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TruthHound (the "Service"), operated by Alexander Davidson ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use TruthHound. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
What TruthHound is and is not
TruthHound is a signal-detection tool. It analyses material you upload — photos, messages, voice notes, and profile data — and surfaces statistical indicators of AI generation, manipulation, and known scam patterns.
TruthHound is not a verdict. It does not determine truth, identity, or guilt. It is not a substitute for professional advice — including legal, financial, medical, or safety advice — and it is not an investigative service. AI-detection methods are probabilistic and degrade as new generative models appear; outputs may include false positives and false negatives.
Acceptable use
You agree to use TruthHound only for lawful, personal-safety purposes. You will:
- Only upload material you have a legal right to share or that has been shared with you.
- Never upload child sexual abuse material (CSAM); this is reported and accounts are terminated.
- Not use the Service to harass, stalk, dox, or threaten any person.
- Not use the Service to surveil minors, or to surveil non-consenting adults beyond the limited scope of personal-safety self-checks.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, probe, or interfere with the Service or its security.
- Not use the Service for unlawful purposes, fraud, spam, or to infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules without notice and may report unlawful activity to relevant authorities.
Generative AI — additional terms
The Service uses generative and analytical AI models. You are solely responsible for your prompts and inputs, for verifying the accuracy of outputs, and for ensuring you have the rights to any content you submit. Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete and must not be relied on as professional advice (legal, medical, financial, safety) without independent human oversight.
You must not use the Service to generate or attempt to generate illegal content, deepfakes intended to deceive, hate speech, malware, or to jailbreak or circumvent safety controls. We reserve the right to filter, refuse, or remove outputs and to suspend accounts for repeated or serious violations. Rights-holders may submit takedown requests to legal@truthhound.app.
Account responsibility
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it updated. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, source code, models, designs, branding, documentation, and other materials, is owned by Alexander Davidson or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose during your subscription. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.
You retain ownership of the material you upload. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and analyse that material solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use your uploads to train AI models without your explicit opt-in.
Payments, subscriptions, and our reseller
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, taxes, invoicing, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms in addition to these Terms. Pricing and current plans are shown at checkout.
Single Verdict is a one-time purchase. Watch is a recurring monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. See our Refund Policy for refund details.
Service availability and warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
AI-detection is probabilistic and degrades as new generative models appear. You accept full responsibility for any decisions you make on the basis of a TruthHound report.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — shall not exceed the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alexander Davidson and any agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (i) your breach of these Terms, (ii) your misuse of the Service, or (iii) your violation of any law or third-party right, including any person's privacy or image rights.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and your account data may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.
